My self-portraits portray my own personal phases of what my mental thoughts and circumstances consist of. For my piece entitled In A Sentimental Mood, I went through a very sentimental, deep thought phase thinking about how everything is not what I think it to be and how I can get over moody situations. After I completed that piece, I felt as if everything became clearer to my head. Most of my self-portraits consists of a similar concept and background, but, a wide variety of portraits will be coming soon to this category.
These Drawings and Paintings show my love for the talented and beautiful musical artists also in which I specifically look up to for universal messages. Marvin Gaye, a very relatable character to me, made music that truly brought an uplifting feel. He had his own unique signature conception that gives his songs that blissful spark of meaning. His songs aren't just about his love, but his love for the world, love for God, and love for life. Because of this, he truly is an Unsung singer. For the love of jazz music, the portrait I did for Miles Davis displays a graphite abstract background derived from listening to his renditions of the song In A Silent Way. I have also emphasized the detail within his skin. There will be upcoming pieces coming to this category.
This category depicts my appreciation for the great work and branch of artistry that icons such as Michelle & Barack Obama, Steve Harvey, Martin Luther King Jr., and many, many more have worked for and are continuing to strive for. I have not only included political and social figures in their work but also actors and actresses, they also inspire me in this category because of how emotionally relatable their performances are on-screen or on-stage. I have also had the ultimate pleasure of reaching out to a few of my greatest heroes! There will be upcoming pieces coming to this category.
